Adventures in Home Ownership

We love our home, but there were a few things that we wanted to change. For example, the light fixtures in the foyer and hallway were pretty ugly and partially broken. So Noel and I went to Lowes' and bought some new light fixtures. Noel installed them, and I stood nearby for moral support. Here is Handyman Noel switching the fixture in the foyer.
Here is the final product in the foyer.

We also changed the light fixtures in the office, baby room, and hallways. Here is what they look like. Nothing fancy, but definitely an inexpensive step up from the fixtures before. I also hated the faucets in the bathroom. We couldn't control the temperature of the water very well. It was almost always cold, and the times that I wanted it cold (while I brushed my teeth), it would go warm. Drove me crazy. So Noel changed those, too.
Now here is the story of the real adventure in home ownership. Noel wanted to add some light dimmers and change the switches from the old toggles to flat switches. Well...let's just say after trying every circuit breaker, several calls to my dad, and hours of work some of the switches are changed. But there are some glitches. We have to have the lights in the living room on in order to turn on one of the lights and fan in our bathroom as well as the light in the backyard. But we are okay with that until Dad comes in April to figure it all out. The builders definitely took some short cuts as far as electrical wiring goes.

Man! I'm jealous about the new faucets. We've been in our house for almost 3 years and our water is usually cold as well because the knobs are funny. Maybe Noel will have to come over and show us how it's done! What a handyman-

Adam and I just bought the EXACT same faucet... actually two of them for our upstairs bathrooms! Like, we bought them yesterday!

I'm glad Noel didn't electrocute himself. That would have been sad. Good job, guys! Way to give that moral support, Amber! And, nice gloves, Noel!
