Another weekend, another day of soccer! Greg is once again participating in youth soccer with his beloved team...the Tigers (not quite sure why their jersey is blue). Here are some shots from yesterday morning.

Family Traditions

When we were first married I tried so hard to create "traditions" - things you do because it's what you have always done. Moving to Kentucky has changed our lives, and one of those changes has been the institution of various family "traditions" we never thought would occur. 

One of these traditions is Breakfast with the Works. Twice a year (April and October) we take the boys to the track in the morning and have a nice breakfast of doughnuts, sausage, hot chocholate, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. In other words, we try to kill ourselves 2 times a year.

This morning we took the boys to Breakfast with the Works at Keeneland and like usual had a great morning.

We also had a fun Friday afternoon. Since the clinics are closed for State licensure exams at UK, Noel had Friday afternoon off. The boys were so happy to run around in the backyard and have wagon races.

Florida

We spent a wonderful week in Florida for spring break.

We don't write much, we just show a lot.  Here are a few of our favorites from vacation.

Like most of the US, the weather here in Lexington has been nice and warm this spring. Our old sprinkler died at the end of summer last year and so today Greg and I went to the store and bought a new one. Here is the end result.

Let's take a look at this image. Some of you might be thinking, "Oh, how cute a picture." or "What a great keepsake!" And all of you would be 100% correct, except for one thing, the subtle command of "Look here and say CHEESE." Oh how are youth are falling astray at such early ages! 

By the way, guess who got to see the NCAA tournament's greatest comeback...yup WE DID!

Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice seems fitting for the past week. On Monday Lexington received 4-5 inches of snow. Enough snow for Fayette County to cancels its classes. All this following a weekend of tornados that ripped across Kentucky. Weirdest part...it was 50 degrees and sunny by 3 in the afternoon. So when I came home after clinical hours the boys and I had a blast in the backyard.

One week later Lexington is back to normal and today was 70 degrees and sunny. 

Greg won't smile much for the camera anymore. I think I used up all of his camera karma.

Greg has been obsessed with the hose this spring. He loves dragging it around the yard. Notice anything weird in the pic...yup thats right. Tornado damage to Greg's right. 

Love this sequence. What Brighton lacks in articulation, he makes up for in fine motor skills. Check out the follow through in his throw...yup, sign him for the Broncos because right now they are taking anyone.

Christmas and BEYOND!

It's only February and we are finally finishing the Christmas post. That's ok, it just means that we have been busy. Since this is Noel and I am not one to type and type and type, I thought it was appropriate to do a picture post.

So without further ado...let the pictures begin.

Here is Greg on Christmas morning. He was more worried about losing his bear than opening presents. Go figure.

Mike and Les had church later on so we decided to enjoy the morning and wait until the Hansen crew could make it down to Spanish Fork. If you didn't notice...Hayley decided that Christmas present opening is only done in pajamas.

Can anyone say donut?! Brighton loves donuts and he had such a wonderful time on my birthday morning digging into dad's stash of donuts.

There is a gene in any Dickens' child that acts as a camera finding gps unit. Yup, we know that Brighton is for sure a Dickens.

Happy Birthday, Noholio! Amber went all out for my birthday. Greg loved wearing the celebration glasses.

Christmas was fun, but boy did it take a lot out of us. However, dental school is better, the boys are healthy again, and Amber and I are finally feeling like our life is back to normal.

In the past year we've learned that Brighton is a fish out of water; he loves anything to do with water. Bath time is an especially cherished treat.

With Brighton loving bath time, Greg has shown a renewed interest in being clean.

Lexington has enjoyed a really mild winter. In fact, Thursday was in the low 60s and Friday was in the mid 60s and sunny. As such we enjoyed several hours this weekend playing in the backyard and going for some walks.

Brighton had a hard time at first walking on the uneven grass. When he adjusted his gait it was hard to bring him back inside.

For as much as I've been absent this past year, it is nice to know that my boys still love me. Here is to a great 2012! Yahoo!!!
